Save
African Children Orphaned by
AIDS - Kenya
|
Funded by Global
Christian Interactive
Inc USA in 2004, New
Start Center Orphanage
is known as Oasis of
Hope and Love. New Start
Center Orphanage is a
rescue centre that cares
for completely abandoned
children irrespective of
their HIV/AIDS status.
The centre was born out
of the desperation,
stigma, discrimination
and possible death that
abandoned children and
those living with
HIV/AIDS face.
Founding New Start
Center Orphanage was
answered prayers to stem
the wave of death and
destruction that plagued
children. Our hearts
were pierced by the case
of Baby Gatwiri who died
in 2003 partly due to
neglect by her care
giver who saw no need of
taking care of a baby
living with HIV.
Gatwiri's mother had
died of AIDS related
complications the same
year.
She could have lived
longer if there was a
rescue center at that
time. Through this
incident, God confirmed
to us and greatly
steered the need to
start a centre to
Rescue, Restore and
Rehabilitate babies in
order to save their
lives. New Start Rescue
Centre gives hope, life
and love to children who
have been abandoned or
neglected or orphaned
through HIV/AIDS and
have no relatives to
take care of them.
Founded on Christian
values and principles,
the centre is committed
to providing shelter,
care and love for
abandoned children from
0-2 years. The centre
caters for the physical,
emotional, psychological
and spiritual needs of
the children. It is a
place of love, hope,
care and healing. We do
not discriminate against
babies irrespective of
their HIV status, color,
race, gender or tribe.
